Keep a Family Bible type record. I know now one keeps a family bible anymore, but in the day if was how people kept track of births, deaths and marriages. It is a great idea to write down when you were born and where, when you where married and where. Write down similar info on your spouse, your siblings and your spouses’ siblings. Then when any new births, marriages or deaths take place record them as well.

Keep a Family Bible type record is really important, it can record who is your grandma cousin ,record your father's sister in law and somemore ,
keep it and do it!
